SAMPLES
Thread: Please link an action thread you have done with this character of 10 or more comments. Threads accepted from anywhere as long as they show you playing the character how you would in this setting.

If you do not have any threads, include a 1st person network post (200 words). Remember the network is not accessible in the arena.

Prose: 200 word minimum. To mimic the spirit of capriciousness within this game, please write your third person sample based on the following prompt:

You have been set in a room in front of the Gamemakers to be judged on a score of one to twelve, with one being the lowest and twelve being the highest.

If you are a new tribute, you have been plucked from home and rushed in here with only a brief explanation of what is going on: You are about to enter an arena death match that only one person will make it out of, and impressing these people will help you live.

If you are someone from Panem, then you are very unlucky. You know what's going on but... you were told all the tributes were from a foreign land now. So why are you in front of the Gamemakers fighting for your life now? Are you a criminal, a traitor, deeply in debt? Or do you even know why you were shoved in to this room?

What is your character scored: Probably a 7 or 8. Edward is not the most physically imposing of those in the arena, but he is a quick little sucker, in good shape physically, charming and manipulative as all hell, extremely attractive (all of which would probably play well with the crowd) and, last but certainly not least, he knows how to kill. He knows it very, very well, both how to kill humans and how to kill other things, and there is a part of him that revels in it. It's what he is, after all.

Edward also has like a lot of abilities that come of being a sparklepire Twilight-verse vampire, and I'm not sure which would be cut, nor to what extent - so I'll list 'em and you can tell me what goes, what stays, and what will stay in a partial way.

The first is that he's basically designed to be a venus fly trap for people. In addition to his transformation physically perfecting him (he is REALLY REALLY PRETTY YOU GUYS OKAY LIKE REALLY PRETTY), he smells really really good to normal people, 'you could bottle this scent and sell it for lots and lots of money' sort of good. It's a cold sort of scent, and people with superhuman noses may or may not hate it, but to normal people he smells really good. His voice is also very attractive, smooth as velvet and just as rich. Everything about him is designed to lure people in, maybe to counteract the danger, Will Robinson vibes most people at least subconsciously pick up on.

Infamously, he sparkles in direct sunlight rather than crisping as most breeds of vampires do - though I would like to take this opportunity to state that it's not like how the movies have done it because how they did it's dumb. Instead of looking as though he regularly bathes in urban decay body glitter, the sparkling is much more unnatural and much more noticeable - at this point on a molecular level Edward's body more closely resembles gemstone than human flesh, which causes a very very noticeable, 'wow that is clearly in no way human' sort of flash and dazzle in direct sunlight, the sort that people in a crowd would turn to stare at pretty fast. This also means that his body is as hard as a rock - though apparently with at least some of the elasticity of a normal body, as he doesn't really 'chip'. He is profoundly difficult to damage, let alone kill; a stake through the heart would do absolutely no damage to him, and would in fact probably just bounce anyway. In short, he looks like a marble statue and feels about the same, but one that can move. And one that's rather less fragile than your average marble statue. He produces no body heat, which is usually fine as he does not need it, nor does he need to move unless he feels like it. Even to blink. Even to breathe - though not breathing is somewhat uncomfortable, like deciding you're just not going to open your eyes today. In canon, effectively the only way to kill a vampire is to literally tear them to pieces and then burn the pieces, because even after tearing them up you can apparently put them back together? Idk. Theoretically you could probably just burn one without the tearing up thing first, but it'd be hard to keep them still long enough for it to take without prior dismemberment. They do seem to light fairly easily, but they could put themselves out as well - they don't go up like tinder, like some vampires do. They also smell like incense when they burn so. there's that.

Although capable of eating normal food, Edward is incapable of digesting it, which means that he could eat that sandwich, but if he didn't throw it up later it would literally just rot in his stomach without doing anyone a speck of good. The only thing he can 'digest' is blood - human blood tastes best but he can survive off of something else if need be. Technically speaking he doesn't even need blood - vampires cannot actually starve to death. What does happen as he gets thirstier and thirstier is his self-control and scraps of humanity gradually begins to erode until he jumps the first warm body that comes near and drains it. Also worth noting is how he eats. In Twilightverse, vampires do not have neat little fangs to make neat little holes to suck blood from, instead they've got a mouth full of razor sharp teeth that basically function as a way to tear chunks out of things. When a sparklepire jumps you, you don't end up with little wounds like overly aggressive mosquito bites, you end with massive gaping bloody holes which they can then suck the blood out of - a process which does not take nearly as long as it logically should. To make matters better, basically all of the liquid in their body, including saliva, has been replaced by a 'venom' which causes massive, debilitating pain - it's like being burned in a fire, but a fire that won't go out. This venom is also what causes transformation into a vampire for another party, if a vampire bites them and leaves them with enough blood to keep their heart going, and without a fatal wound. This process ps is really really painful, and fairly rare in the common way. There aren't many vampires who have the self control to stop before they've drained someone.

Twilight vampires are also really strong and really really fast, and Edward is fast even for a vampire. And, by 'really strong and really fast' I mean, for example, that he can move faster than the eye can track, and can do so over vast areas of space, and by 'really strong' I mean that two vampires having a friendly arm wrestling match can crush a boulder to gravel.

He does not age, as is standard, but neither can he sleep. Finally, he has highly enhanced senses, everything from vision to hearing to most especially smell. Therefore garlic can be annoying, but not debilitating - silver, crosses, holy water, poppy seeds, running water, and all the rest don't have any effect.

For the sake of completeness, Edward also has one unique ability that becoming a vampire unlocked - permanent passive mindreading. Normally when he is near someone, he hears their thoughts, automatically. He doesn't have a way to turn this off but normally tunes it out, like if you were in a crowd surrounded by hundreds of people talking all at once. He can, however, normally eavesdrop on the minds of anyone relatively near by - and, the better he knows someone, the further he can hear their minds from. There are one and a half exceptions to this in canon, namely Bella and her father (the half being because he can sort of hear Bella's dad's mind, it's just decidedly vague when compared to most).

Clearly he's not keeping all of this, but I wasn't sure what he would keep. I figure he'd keep the sparkles, for example, while loosing the near-invulnerability that goes with it, but some of the things have me a little unsure. Would he keep the teeth so he could eat? Would he retain the venom? Some watered down version of the venom? Keep the enhanced senses, at full strength or any degree of watered down? Idek SO I'M PUTTING IT TO YOU
